Ahhh, the weekend. Kentucky Derby, I can't make it to Churchill Downs this year but I will follow closely. (I have never been there, only in my dreams.) When you grow up with horses I think a hard-wire connection develops for these amazing animals. Our last horse was a stinker. Probably the first and only horse I ever met that I did not bond with. Anyway, that's a long story.
What has me burned today is not that I have had to delay all my sewing projects for other pursuits, but this whole poisoning our dogs long-distance from China thing, again. My dogs love the chicken jerky treats from Waggin-Train. Yes, they are imported from China. They have some kind of miserable poison that is causing kidney failure in pets. In addition, now there is a recall on the Costco Kirkland brand dry kibble. Another absolute favorite of my furry friends. So I am on my way to Costco to return these products and request my money back. Not that it is that much $ but the principal involved. Does no one do quality checks during the manufacturing process? How did the salmonella tainted food get out here?
DISGUSTING!
during the last tainted pet food debacle my son and I made all our pets food. It was a lot of extra work but it looks like I am going back there. They loved it of course.
Ok, I'm done.
There are times when we literally search for Wisdom, Hope or Peace. Of course, some times we find it in the most peculiar places. After watching the news, I tend to want to curl up and sleep the information away. Then I opened this. I don't know why, but it struck a chord. Not much about cooking but planting the apple tree will bear fruit. I feel an apple tart coming on:) Have a lovely weekend, next week is an open book. How will you use it? |
