Corinne in Sewtopia: Hello June, We are Back!

 Red Twig Farms Peony Giveaway

Well, that was a bit of a "break," wasn't it? Just know that Sewtopia is alive and sort of well! That said, I'm ready to resume blogging, a slightly different schedule will be in place to accommodate my physical limitations, but back with a full heart and an even more full agenda. After losing all the posts and information from the original blog, I will admit, I decided to give up. So disheartening. I am over it now, what's done is done. Right? To step away and reassess what to keep and what to walk away from often takes a while. I found great joy in this blog, so a return was inevitable, and stepping away permanently from other burdens has been like a breath of fresh air.

First, let me apologize for being gone for so long. Talk about multi-level burn out! Anyway, I want to try again, I miss the documentation and sharing that this blog provided for over 12 years. While my work and interests have remained much the same I need to customize my process to be able to do what I want. My arthritis and it's effects have progressed significantly. Please bear with me if I seem to be lagging now and then. I have brought a new chair into my workspace to help. I am still using the Baby Lock Coronet long arm, in spurts. I will be passing that on to a friend in the future. She is new to quilting, has used the machine, and just needs to find a space for it. There is a new Baby Lock Sashiko machine in the stable. I will be sharing some information and projects using that machine.

It is peony season here. They are beautiful. I was fortunate that my dear DIL cut a huge bundle and presented them to me one evening last week. Knowing my passion for flowers, she is my official flower girl.

On the quilting journey I have been pottering around. I am at the binding phase of the Forever Quilt. This one has been a little bit here and a little bit there type of work. It has been assembled from scrap and left over charm blocks, left over jelly roll pieces, and any other print that would work.

I discovered this beautiful fabric in a drawer the other day, I think I bought it because I liked it with no specific purpose. Any ideas?

Finally: I am ready to assemble the blocks for the yellow and blue blocks from last year at this time. Since I don't have a design wall right now, I will likely do that on top of my bed or dining room table.

Such a simple quilt really, but I had to put it aside, for several months. Now looking at it with fresh eyes, I may just finish it!

I came upon this photo and just had to share. My one and only orange tulips, the deer ate the bulbs before I could pull them. Never found another set just like this.

Changing the way I work: I have been playing around with some quilting designs on the Baby Lock Destiny II for smalls. And I have some finished quilt tops that I have no intention of finishing and will cut up for other smalls.

The Plan: I plan to post each Friday and perhaps one other time during the week, I'm working on it. As in the past, there will be no advertisements here. I will not share your personal information. There will be no political and contentious commentary. I will credit the work of others when that information is available and with their permission.
