A Saturday This and That

Happy Spring, no matter what else is going on, I have this!!!

Spring is here, the leaves are almost fully out, the hostas are up and beautiful and this little flower, from the clematis vine is a happy little addition. I love spring,  we finally had some rain yesterday and the air is so clean and sweet, one cannot help but smile. On the first of several walks with Lola this morning there was a fine mist in the air but it was like a kiss. Even Lola had her head stretching up and savoring the entire experience, who knew?

I have fallen down a rabbit hole of sorts. Quiet time, sometimes called "downtime," I call it break time, has led to some online shopping. Who doesn't need some new patterns? You know I like the Style Arc brand and the US retailers do carry a decent number of them, but to get the new or limited patterns, you have to ship from Austrailia. I am essentially eliminating anything with a button front. I am irritated every time I try to adjust the front to keep the line of buttons straight. The spinal curvature has won. I quit. No more blouses with a button front. The new patterns have eliminated all center front detail.  Have you checked shipping rates from Australia lately? OMG it costs almost as much as the 3 patterns! I keep saying never again, but, again has happened. They are on their way via carrier pigeon I think.

Good grief, it has been a crazy busy week. While any surgery has its moments, this one was a doosie, and still is. Poor husband, this is his 11th event since retirement 10 years ago. Yes, we are both a bit weary of the business. While his dominant hand and arm are casted and essentially immobile, the left hand is sprained and almost non-functioning.

Today is baking day, bread, dog biscuits, and some scones for tea. Nothing sweet because I still have cookies for last weeks super cookie bake. I froze them by the dozen. They were a big hit at the BBQ. As usual, way too much food.

Have a lovely weekend, I hope to have something to show you next week. Maybe, just maybe, things will settle down. If not, I will just stare at a painting and dream. May be an image of tennis, dog, ball and indoor
