It's that time again, the Fall decor comes out of storage and gets placed here and there. I don't decorate as much as I used to. There used to be a tree in every room on the first floor. Fall entertaining is my favorite. Football games, family gatherings, post farmers market chili gatherings, out of state visiting friends, all combine to form an excuse for a celebration.
This season we have a wedding. Several years in the offing, my middle aged son is going for #2! I know this is the forever one. It will be much smaller than the first, family and friends. We are still in the planning stages but to have such a wonderful event to mark the season, well, it warms my heart. It has been a really difficult couple of years, we need something happy.
These apples look so realistic, I had a visitor pick one up to munch. He quickly noted how light it was!
This plain little corner at the bottom of the steps to the second floor only has a wee bit of room so only a wee bit of decor can be used!
Ponderings for the month:
- I
need to understand why many people, young and old alike, no longer
pronounce "T's" in conversation. Is it a change in the rules of grammar?
Is it an affectation gleaned from some social influencers? Or is it just
laziness? It has been bothering me, if you know, please tell me.
- Is there a tick magnet attached to me somewhere? After a brief foray into the brush on the edge of the woods chasing Lola, two of the miserable beasts buried their icky selves into my chest. Each produced a nasty red welt, an allergic reaction. Off to urgent care, antibiotics etc. have settled the rash down. They were in residence less than 24 hours before recovery so Lyme is not likely.
- Post-pandemic time seems to be on hyper-speed, have you noticed? *again, I apologize for the long periods of quiet here, I have been too busy to think. After the funeral of a dear friends husband tomorrow I will need some decompression time then hopefully return with purpose. Until then dear stitching friends, sew among yourselves😁
