This beautiful card, embroidery on linen, from a dear friend for my birthday, deserved a special mention. Made by Papyrus, it is cherished and holds a prominent position on my side table.
Tea Time today is a little nod to taking a few moments to oneself just to "be." Another dear friend gifted to me a book that is guaranteed to keep me thinking! I find reading to be an essential element of my life. I cannot imagine a day without reading. Currently, I am still traveling in a northern French village where the day to day life is documented by a lady with an elegant style. I also just received an interesting book, written by an English woman about life in England post-WWII. I just finished the prologue, it comes highly recommended by a group of ladies who are currently studying and attempting to adopt the way of life as a 1950's housewife. Since I lived during that time period here, in the USA, I am studying the contrasts and comparisons, my reference points are my mother, my aunts, and my grandmothers. Should be interesting. Romanticizing life in the 1950's has become very popular in the world as it is today. Often idealized while presenting an unrealistic way of life, if nothing else, it is a nice mental vacation!
The strawberries left over after the mix. OK, off I go to the back porch to drink my tea and read my book. Have a lovely day!
