In the early morning today, after watering flowers and herbs, I took some time to just admire the density of the foliage this year. As Lola and I walked a bit I couldn't help but notice I can barely see into the woods by the barn, the trees and undergrowth is that thick! Our baby black squirrels are scurrying all over now, they are more brave every day, mindful of the huge crows and owls sitting high in the trees, they play together with total abandon.
This time of year is absolute heaven to me. It is hot today, rather humid as well. This afternoon I plan to land in my rocking chair with a nice frosty glass of ice tea and read a bit of my book. I have a new magazine to peruse as well. I put my magazines etc. in a large zip lock bag and keep them by my chair so that when I go out, for whatever reason, I have something to read. Without that protection they absorb too much moisture.
The Book of the Week.
In the Spring of 2001 I had the opportunity to travel to Italy and tour the Vatican. Needless to say, many tours would be required to view even a fraction of the buildings, artifacts, and sculptures. I was truly in awe. Since that time, my curiosity has only increased and when I saw this book, in 2020, I intended to make it part of my Library. I bought it for myself for my birthday. It has not disappointed to say the least. 
The photography, the history, the events of the church are documented in a style that makes it sequential, easy to understand, and a pleasure to read. 
Seeing some of these sights in person surely piqued my interest, but our tour guide, Sylvania of the beautiful silk scarf, suggested we return often to get the full story. I wish. - One of the most outstanding presentations of Masterpiece Theatre, on public television, is Endeavor. The season 8 premier is Sunday. Three episodes will be available and each a movie of sorts unto itself with former and new cast members presented. The first story starts in 1971.
