A Mind of My Own, Time Changes, Mosquitos, Crochet

May be a cartoon of text that says 'ARE WE THERE YET? How MUCH FARTHER? HAVE To GO To THE BATH- ROOM! M GONNA BE SICK! St. Patrick driving the snakes out of Ireland.'

Spring, clocks changing, distractions....all components of modern life. First, Spring in  WPa. is always a journey. One day temps in the 6o's, the next day in the single digits and 6 inches of snow.

Changing the clocks is a futile exercise IMO. Let's pick a system and stay with it. I have been over sleeping, forgetting to start dinner (while hungry people, still on the other system are moaning) and upsetting the daily routine. Even in retirement it is discombobulating!

Distractions of an unsettled world occupy my heart and my mind. Some are able to live as scheduled, for me, not so much. Some advice from Marc and Angel below.

Mantra #1: Be here now, and breathe. -- Life often leads us on journeys we would never go on if it were up to us. Don’t be afraid. Trust the journey, and give yourself credit for your resilience and how far you’ve come this year. You’ve lived, you’ve learned, you’ve survived all your bad days, and you’re still here growing. So just remind yourself right now: You are not your bad days. You are not your mistakes. You are not your scars. You are not your past. Be here now... and breathe.

Mantra #2: This is the beginning. -- Everything in life—every situation and every relationship—has to come to an end eventually. It’s important to appreciate and accept the end of an era—to walk away sensibly when something has reached its inevitable conclusion. Letting go, turning the page, moving forward, etc. It doesn’t matter what you call it, what matters is that you leave the past where it belongs so you can make the best of the life that’s presently available to be lived. This ending is not THE END, it’s just your life beginning again in a new way. It’s a point in your story where one chapter fades into the next.

In other news..... here's a thought for those who venture outside as the weather turns milder.

Mosquito Wasp & Tick ControlsMosquito, tick, and wasp protection. It's a look, right?

  • You know, I raised my children to eat healthy food, to be careful of food sourcing, and to learn to grow and prepare your own edibles when possible. My "Gas Station Gourmet" son has been stricken for the 2nd time this year. Seriously, is there a disconnect there? Stop eating that junk. Food poisoning is not just a passing thing. Serious E. Coli contamination can cause fatal side effects. Take care and do not participate. Your public service announcement for the day!
  • My Aero-garden is really disappointing this cycle. The chives are a couple little stems popping from the pods. The parsley is struggling, not even enough to decorate a scoop of potatoes, and the thyme, well, the thyme also appears to be a dud. I am going back through my Amazon purchases and file a complaint. Only one of the 9 pods in this order were productive. One.
  • Last but not least, Attic 24, HERE, nice little blog that has been around for several years. Often in recent years there have been long lapses in posts when Lucy has been ill. When she does post she sprinkles stunning photos of her landscape in Northern UK, her crochet projects are populated with stunning color combinations, and her over all view of her personal life has evolved over time. Right now she is working on a new design for the Fall crochet-along project. I do like a nice crochet project. Right now I have started the second color on the Crumpled Griddle Stitch lap blanket. It is just right for an evening of television. A cozy fire, a cup of tea, and some yarn.....it is a good thing.
