Seriously, have you ever seen a cuter cottage? I could move in this afternoon. Just need to pack up my sewing machine!
My son uses this bridge everyday on his way to work. He passed over it about an hour before the collapse. So grateful there were no deaths and injuries were limited although certainly not limited for those who had them!
Well, we are living in a deep freeze here, 8 degrees this morning. Only 8 of them. You know I am in a bit of a tizz. What am I doing while the rice is steaming and I am prepping my little oven? While paying some bills, making a grocery list, and considering all my Saturday tasks, I am catching up on some saved television programs that I never seem to get around to watching. You know what I mean, save this one or that and then eventually delete them because your storage is full or you don't know why you saved them to begin with!
I often cross this bridge on my way to Phipps Conservatory or the Carnegie Museum. Was a good shortcut if the Parkway is backed up.
So far this Winter finding something interesting to watch on TV in the evening is a bit of a quest. Recently, I discovered a few programs on Acorn TV that were happy and interesting.
- Under the Vines, Vines, a charming 8 episode first season about two unlikely people who inherit a vineyard in New Zealand. Season 2 is being filmed now. It is quirky, shows determination, and an eventual strong relationship with a village of characters.
- Queens of Mystery is another charming series, 2 seasons of a young detective, raised by 3 quirky Aunts after the mysterious disappearance of her mother when she was a child. There is murder, but who knew murder could be a bit funny?
In a more serious genre, Dalgiesh, is a 1983 classic single series based on a book of the same name. Outstanding plots and character development. There is murder, it isn't funny, it is provocative.
Reilly, is an intense series based on a true story of the first English Spy. The James Bond series of books and movies was based on this real life hero. It is intense. Very well done.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries, also with a bit of humor is a one series, so far, episode of 8 interesting and humorous story of an interesting English woman who accidentally becomes a detective in a little village in the south of France.
