In the kitchen we all are gearing up for the holidays. Here at Maple Lane House, I start Thanksgiving week, sometimes a little before, to finish the gift baskets, (I am waaaay behind) make the cookies, pizzelle's, pie dough rounds, and make sure I have all ingredients needed for the pies. The stuffed cabbage has been made and packed away to freeze, (I put these in the baskets for those who need a turkey break over the long weekend and for son to take to deer camp,) gallons of sauce, with and without sweet and hot Italian sausage, in their jars, waiting for Sunday dinner. The aubergine (eggplant) in the market this week were stunning. Well, if you can be smitten with a vegetable, you would be with these!
Of course, the kitchen and recipe blogs are full of great ideas right now and I wanted to once again share a few of my favorites, first, Cafe Sucre Farine, Scott and Chris have a great selection, HERE.
