The Tuesday Tea Is more reflective today than usual. The season has surely changed here! It is cold! I have bundled all the lap sized quilts into their basket for the season, just grab and cuddle! When your collection is as large as mine, rotating them, to appreciate them is important. Many are vintage family treasures. Summer quilts have been washed, dried, refolded and stored in their muslin covers. These I make from pre-washed plain old muslin I get at Joann's. I buy an entire bolt when I have a 50% coupon. I make covers for clothes and coats as well. Nothing fancy. I fashion them like large pillow cases, fold over closure, no zipper. I sew the seams with an over-lock to prevent fraying. I wash them per season as well.
I have savored my tea today while completing this chore. I need to totally clean out this closet, but not today. It is a busy week here and I am trying to finish up decorating, clean the house plants on the porch and bring them back into the house, one of my least favorite tasks. I spent inordinate amounts of time searching for little creepy hitch-hikers. Don't want to have things crawling up the walls you know!
This is my favorite, well only one of two brew cups that I use regularly. It is perfect for my purpose. I can brew the tea, head upstairs, and it stays warm while I work. A gift from a dear friend, tea enthusiasts are of like mind!
