Good morning quilters and sewists alike. Flowers are such a grand representation of color, form, and design. To study these compositions, whether in real life or in paintings, help us to understand how we can compose our colorways when we design.
I have finally received my new watercolor pens and sketch paper to start my shadow sketching project. Today, I will pick the stunning yellow roses, a day or two beyond their peak to sketch. I need to take several photo's to use for reference. I think I will work in the dining room, the light is good there.
I am reading The Smitten Kitchen by Deb Perleman. What a joy it is! Amazing dishes from your pantry. Anecdotal comments make it a fine read.
And another soul searcher, What I'm watching surprises me. I have seen this series advertised for a long time but it didn't appeal to me. It seemed a bit "soapy?" Well, I gave it a go and it is a cross between soap and serious. Real life problems in two families that are at once funny and tiresome while being entertaining and not tedious, does that make sense?
Nicola Walker has always been one of my favorite actresses. A charming series.
Have a lovely Summer Day!
