Friday Flashback-Stars and Sashiko

Ah, Friday, who doesn't look forward to a Summer weekend? In the US, it is Father's Day on Sunday. Traditionally a family celebration for us. Son and GF are having a picnic, I have an assignment for sides and desert. That is easy, I can do this in my sleep! I don't have to do it all, makes me smile, makes me smile.

The two patriotic beauties and the Sashiko samples are from Ladies of the Cloth members. Beautiful, Yes?

I have never attempted this stitch, beautiful. A brief history of this art HERE.

  •  Well, the kitchen is done, finally. All the doors and drawers have been remade, repainted, installed. This process started before Thanksgiving 2020. There have been bumps along the way. The craftsmen were outstanding but timing, supplies, Covid, etc. changed our plans. No more big projects for a while.
  • I finished my copy cat large block quilt top yesterday. Photo's soon.
  • I loaded a patriotic porch quilt on the Coronet, new needle, fresh oil, all that stuff and tension issues. I am using the same Isocord but I think I had the bobbin in backwards. After multiple re-threads and fresh bobbins, another needle, or two. and we are good to go. Tomorrow, we sew, I hope😃
  • Today we had The Perfect Pennsylvania Day. Sunny, light breeze, 75 degrees, bird song, scent of honey suckle and a few moments in my ancient rocking chair with a cup of tea and Lola by my side. Yes, the perfect day. I hope the same for you!
