Embroidery is alive and well as evidenced by a current contest by Spoonflower Design. I have provided a link to the viewing/voting page. Wow, what diversity and talent. There are 718 entries! You can chose as many as you like. Worth a look. Have a lovely weekend. The contest explanation and rules, HERE!
The sweet little one above, by Erin Russek of One Piece at a Time Blog, HERE.
- I always enjoy the diversity of design in the embroidery community and these are wonderful examples from simple line designs to elaborate panels.
- Hand embroidery is an exacting skill, much like fingerprints or signatures, each artist has their own style, not just in design but in stitchery.
- When our world reopens I think that more groups will emerge to share the work. After having time while in isolation to work on projects, perfect skills, and revisit the joy of handwork, the opportunities are ripe for growth.
- Sorry about the posting schedule, life gets in the way, time is precious, I am rethinking it all.
