Tea Time Tuesday, Whittard Chelsea 1886

I am on the search for the perfect scone recipe.

Oh, tea time. There are days when our large meal of the day falls at mid-day, which is most often, then when the early evening arrives we get a bit peckish. What a good time for a nice little scone and cup of bracing tea, often with a piece of fruit. I am testing recipes for Kitchen Chronicles (HERE) right now, but so far nothing too exciting. Report on that another time. The last attempt could have paved a road.

The kitchen dreams continue....what do you think of this one?
The wallpaper is from House of Hackney in London. Wallpaper is making a big comeback in modern decor. Now, I really like this one and likely would for several months.....then not so much. Considering how pricey these papers are, this is not a likely choice for me but it is pretty! Check out that little Gothic window!

Getting set up for afternoon tea, nothing fancy, just a small pot and maybe a little snack.

Today we are enjoying this sweet little white tea. It is one of those refreshing and flavorful teas that are perfect with savories. IMO.

Notice the greenish colors of the leaf blend, the tea is full bodied but the flavor profile is very different from many of my other teas. Don't you just love tea tins? I might have a few!
Today, Zucchini Bread with Pineapple. (Recipe here)

  • I read during my tea time. Sometimes I just scan photo's in magazines or books. More on that soon.
  • I have been researching the current phenomena of Creativity Loss during pandemic. It isn't an isolated experience, more on that next week.
  • Need some lighthearted TV experience. Acorn, Netflix, and Amazon are offering some great British mysteries. Check out Lovejoy, Agatha Christie mysteries, Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears. And my absolute favorite, MidSomer Murders. I want to live in MidSomer!!

I need so much sweet in my tea that it is embarrassing, so I stick with the iced variety!

If I need to sweeten, I use Sweet and Low. I know the whole "chemical" thing, but I don't like the taste of sugar. I am odd. I know.

We could use them to grout your bathroom if we add a little water!!!
