It's always Tea Time somewere? Isn't It?

Good Morning Sewing Sisters! Our Summer has been a warm one.  The husband often remarks that I can drink hot tea on any day, even these steamy ones. And yes, I can. During Summer I make one large pot for a cup or two then save the rest, through the day, to have with ice.
The full-bodied Fortnum & Mason Afternoon Blend is just right.
After working with the straggling petunias in the mid-afternoon heat, I need a cup of tea because it is time to give them their walking orders. That is always a difficult time for me, the poor dears have done their best but time has moved on and they need to move on as well. I am looking for Mums for Fall but it just seems too soon.
No baking this week, the shopper picked up these spicy windmill cookies at the grocery store. He remembers them from his childhood. Not bad really, go well with this tea!
A little fruit tucked in with a couple tomatoes!
Look at my poor tea basket! It has seen better days!

  • Of course, I lugged pail after pail with water to rescue my outdoor plants. Then it rained. We have had no rain for weeks. Now they are all too wet.
  • Coping mechanisms have been put through their paces these last couple weeks. Changes. I am sick of changes. I have to make some big decisions. Nothing life-threatening, just one more disappointment to make 2020 a terrible experience. More on that later.
  • I just saw a television ad for the MTV VMA awards. What? Who? Never heard of one person they mentioned, it's official, I am an old lady!
  • Just think, 4 months from Christmas. I hear screaming!!!
