Another Project, the Littles

The Littles, that's what I call them. All those little projects, cute, useable, and universally accepted in the quilting world! Ha! Not every project needs to be a bed size quilt or even a lap size quilt. We all need potholders, trivets, mug rugs, placemats, table runners, right?  So here we go, a little idea box so-to-speak.

Are these cute or what? Simple cross-hatch quilting, some nice bias binding, no corners, no miters, oh yes. Think housewarming gift, hostess gift, shower gift, just because gift, too cute.

After several misdirected attempts to download photo's from phones, cameras, etc. I think I got it to work, sort of. I will be meeting with my computer helper on Sunday. Hope he has some answers for me. I may have to spring for a new computer. yuk.

Anyway, here are some of the little projects from the Kimberbell embroidery class I took a couple weeks ago. Nothing grand here, just some nice little projects to strengthen skills on in-the-hoop embroidery. It is such a fun little process.

So, in order to celebrate July 4th, these little items are simple decor.
This little banner flag was made entirely in the hoop except for the top-stitching to make a rod pocket and attaching the fringe. Right now it is dangling from the Polish Pottery china cabinet located in the eat-in section of the kitchen.
The ever-present Mug Rug so popular with in-the-hoop people! No wonder, it was fun to make, just stitch the placement lines, place your fabric, the machine stitches it, you embroider, add a backing and bingo. The Kimberbell group does amazing pre-cut kits with absolutely everything you need for the project. This time I got to use the Meridian machine. It is a stand-alone embroidery machine, has all the embroidery and IQ components of the Destiny.
Baby Lock Meridian Embroidery MachineIt is a single needle and the price point is really good for a machine this advanced. If it had been around a couple years ago, she would be home with me.
