My View From Sunday Night

Lola says enough is enough, I need to get to the beauty parlor, my curls are out of control!

Another week of isolation in the books. I would like to think this is over but it isn't, I am looking forward to sunshine, gardens, grilling. Spring comes slowly to this area of the country, much too slow this year it seems.

I am tryng to cook a few things ahead so I don't have to spend all day every single day in the kitchen, three times a day, yada, yada, yada. This week I am planning Orange Chicken, Meatballs for spaghetti, a black bean soup. I bake on Mondays and Thursdays usually and I may spring for cookies this week. Or a pie. Or pizelle. I need to call the butcher to get some supplies. All shopping is a pain these days.

I'm done with masks for a while.
These are the heat erasable pens I got a couple weeks ago, I was going to test them, haven't yet. I was moving furniture. I brought a 4 drawer chest down to the family room to store embroidery supplies and took Rachel and her cabinet upstairs. My word, that girl has put on a few pounds or my muscles have fled the scene! Done with that stuff, I still hurt! But now I have things where I want them, nice and neat and tidy!

I am binge-watching Good Karma Hospital on Acorn TV. What a charming storyline. I would love, love, love to visit Sri Lanka where it was filmed.
I am studying A to Z Bullions. What a beautiful book, just like all the other A to Z's.

A-Z of Bullions: Step by step guide to creating over 120 beautiful bullion roses +individual figuresI am working on some hand stitching skills. I worry about my arthritis getting the best of me. I warm my hands with warm water then pick up the needle. Is it working? I don't know, my stitching looks like crap. But a girl can dream. One of my favorite YouTube views is of Nicola Parkman from Hands by the Sea Samplers. My word, that woman makes me think I can do this!!!

My other read, (slow but sure because I end up too tired at bedtime) is very interesting. It follows the day of male and female Victorians in their dress and habits. Really an eye-opener, not much glamour there for the everyday person.

I did manage to get a few nine-patch blocks done on the quilt, I cleaned an area of the studio and lo and behold I found two large bags of wools I bought for the felting episode! I have been looking for them for a while, they were in a dead-end corner under the desk where the serger lives. I will spare you the long story associated with this.

The embroidery and cross-stitch supplies are happy in their new home in the chest in the family room. I can park in my not-so-comfortable chair, all padded up with pillows and a little blanket and stitch.  After 47 days of self-isolation I am pretty sure I need to get out. Really, I have been buying cleaning supplies from TV, hold me down!
