This Day, a Bit of This and That....

As I take a little break I wanted to share a few little tidbits. I try to bake one type of cookie every Sunday during Advent. I started this when my dear children were little, it was the only way to get it done! I don't make a lot of fancy things, of course, just everyone's favorites. This year I picked up one, well actually two, (another story, another time) of those engraved rolling pins that seem to be everywhere right now. I am going to try to make some embossed shortbread or sugar cookies with them. I will check back on that one!
The design on this one is little Polish nesting dolls. Can you stand it?

This tea is lovely, picked it up at the local Polish market.

I do apologize for the long pause in Sewtopia. I am feeling better, thankfully, and hope to get my bones moving again. The medication adjustments tend to wipe me out. Really, just maintaining my day is an effort at times. But..... I did manage to start, repeat, start, loading a Wysocki panel to make a hanging quilt for me, of all people. I seem to end up giving them all away. Not this one. It will be a keeper.  I just viewed the daily post from Bonnie Hunters Quiltville Inn. Oh my, oh my! It is glorious. I have followed her work and dream for the last year and a half and I am absolutely amazed at the end product. This weekend she has invited 12 ladies from her quilting bee to "Beta Test" the space. The post has photos of them but if you scroll to the bottom you will see the video. The stunning quilted decor is priceless.  Quiltville Inn, by Bonnie Hunter, HERE

That said, I am preparing a roast, supplied by Son to make for dinner. He is working on his new-to-him house and the kitchen isn't anywhere near done yet. So today he brought Thanksgiving leftovers and the roast for our dinner. I have to make a salad, and the tea. I can handle this.

Have a wonderful remainder of the Holiday weekend. Miss my dear friends at our Tuesday Gathering, Hope to see you this week.

In Closing.........................
"A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares will not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul."  Johann Wolfgang von Goethe *On this day, 8 years ago, my life changed forever. My Dear Second Son, Eric, passed away to his forever home. Every day he is in my heart, and yes, my heart is broken.
A photo of him, shortly before with his beloved dog Lucy who then became my dog. The most wonderful dog I have ever known.
