Saturday-Today We Are Talking About Tools-Elmers Glue

Another opportunity missed.
These pre-cuts have a way of slipping during stitching, if I had run that tiny bead of glue and heat set it, I would only have needed to stitch once and avoid the unsewing that caused the fraying and the frustration.
If I had used Emer's this jumble of pieced binding strips might have been easier to handle.
Tools. Those of us who sew and quilt and craft need them. Tools make our crafting easier. On occasion, an unconventional item meets our needs. Such is the good old Elmer's School Glue.

This video is a must-see. I have seen it in the past but the refresher was the best! Sharon relates that her conversation with judges at a quilt show emphasized the quilts that reach the highest level of competition are often the same in talent, design, and quilting. The clincher is the backing and the binding. If the bindings are not applied with perfection, and that means the miter's, the width consistency and the perfectly filled seam, as well as the machine or hand stitching, you are not even in the running.

I would guess most of us do not enter competitions and those who do likely already know this. In any event, improving your work is a goal for the future.
