This week at The Ladies of the Cloth Karen had two beautiful finishes to share. Always inspired by my
Quilty Friends I am more and more drawn to the "modern" type of quilt design. Karen's gift for color makes her quilts very edgy but not abstract. Does that make sense?

A lovely corner, very fine geometric quilting. |

The fabrics chosen for this quilt really make the pattern come alive. I have seen this pattern in many stunning quilts but this one makes the blocks just pop. |

See what I mean. One of these days I will learn how to take a photo that truly showcases the work. Please bear with me and thanks again Karen for sharing this beautiful quilt. I believe Karen said it was 72 inches x 72 inches. Love it. |

- The evolution of quilting styles can be found in small groups like this as well as nationally published magazines.
- Looking back at some historical pieces one can see a similar style in pioneer quilts. Using what was on hand those quilters worked for utility and with what was available.
- This piece was long arm quilted by a local expert, Kathy Hudak, Her work is always done so well and matching this geometric quilting design with this type of quilt design is perfect.
