Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner!

Any time a new baby enters a family quilters tend to plan the next quilt! What is more personal and special than a little quilt for baby, something with a children's theme is such fun to design and stitch.
Linda Sue,  from The Ladies of the Cloth Quilt Group, has been a busy bee. Just look at this sweet little panel enhanced with hexi's and color. There are so many beautiful panels in the shops now from so many different manufacturers you could go dizzy just looking at them. The quality of the art work is so far beyond the panels we saw in the 1980's or '90's makes them the perfect background for design and  to personalize. The hexi's were cut with an Accu-quilt cutter, the best way to get a perfect die-cut motif. Beautiful.

Modern colors and theme's are bright and happy just in time for the blessed arrival. Sadly, I had several close up photo's that did not take for some reason. Hopefully, I will be able to share the finished product soon. Quilt on Linda Sue, I'll wait right here!
  • Check out your local quilt shop for their selection of panels. These are the perfect medium for a quick gift quilt. These baby quilts will be washed much and appreciated.
  • Don't be afraid of the new color combinations. Many of the panels are part of a fabric line that makes coordination of borders, motifs and backing easy for the designer in you.
  • Babies enjoy colors, don't be afraid to make a quilt that "pops!" Many young mothers are now choosing rather unusual colors such as shades of gray for their decor. Nice idea but this current trend will likely not interest baby. Be the one who steps out of the "paint it white and add ship-lap" trend, just look at Linda Sue's sweet quilt!
