Have You Met The Parisienne Farmgirl?

How to keep a garden journal, why you should keep a garden journal, how to keep a garden journal
Have you met Angela, The Parisienne Farmgirl? I discovered this young woman on the cover of one of Jo Morton's "Where Women Create" Periodicals some time ago. She was the cover story, dressed in lovely Christmas plaids with one or two children. She had a blog, I read it and over the last several years have seen her move residence from city, to rented farm, to her own dream property in Door County, northern Wisconsin. During this time 6 children have been blessed to call her Mother. Several business adventures have led her to her current lifestyle. Before all this, she visited/lived in France for a few months and was smitten with the culture, the lifestyle and the cooking. The Farmgirl was born.

Her current post features her new garden and her plan to use a Garden Journal to document its inception and growth. A charming article and a heartwarming blog will start your week with inspiration and respect for this young couple and how they have followed their dream.

  • I am garden inspired today. We had significant rain yesterday and over night that chilled the air and perked up my limp-ish garden. Nothing like a nice rain.
  • As I studied the plants, tied up the rapidly growing tomato's and admired the little holes gnawed into my bush bean leaves overnight, I remember how much my Dear Lucy loved our morning garden walks. Until the heat of the day that is!
  • I fell off keeping a garden journal last year, not sure why. I think I misplaced it and by the time I discovered where I had tucked it away, the season was well on and I set it aside.
  • I am an organic garden person. No pesticides here.
  • Even though my gardening space is much reduced I still enjoy the process, watching the growth and the harvest.
Have a wonderful day, take some time to watch your garden grow whether it is a P. Allen Smith style (my dream) or sweet little collection of containers gracing your front door!
