Write it Down, Keep it in Cute Little Books!

I am a list maker, a journal keeper, a writer of sorts. This little stack of journals is right next to my desk. I record reading lists, weekly plans, things I want to quilt, other items to sew, menu plans, gift lists. This little stack is only a small representation of my habit.
It might sound like over-planning but I cannot remember when I did not do this and each discipline has it's own journal. I pick them up here and there, frequently at museum stores, often at little musty out of the way book stores. This one was a Christmas gift from Quilty-Friend, Terri. You have seen much of her multi-discipline work here. Apparently, paper work is one of them! I use this journal specifically for a shopping list/wish list for my sewing machines. I met Terri in the shop where I bought all my new machines and I continue to buy fabric. I thought the correlation was a good one. 💗  When sales are on I list needs here and can tear out the page to go. Refill is a small legal size pad. Works perfectly for me.
Now remember, Terri made this. Not just for me but one each for the entire Tuesday group! What a thoughtful gift. I am a little late in sharing this and I do apologize, but the photo's were on a camera that had been misplaced. I know, clean that studio!!! It was buried (the camera) under a small mountain of quilt batting pieces waiting for their new storage space. Life got in the way, quilt batting stayed in a pile, camera was hiding there. Ta-Da! A Harlequin style design is one of my favorites, I don't think she knew that. Providential thought.

As far a sewing goes, any kind of sewing, nada, nothing, blerk! I am still in full time nurse mode. It is complicated, it is time consuming, it is exhausting. I have not given up....just put myself on pause. I do apologize but I think things may be improving soon. Hubby is getting around better, knee replacement is coming along. The other members of the clan are the same but I am getting more efficient. I think.

  • I am in the final days of my 69th year. Lots of mixed feelings about that but not negative ones. This is how it is supposed to be. My parents seemed so "old" at this age.
  • I don't feel "old." I had my hair colored red-ish. A slutty sort of look. It's sort of prematurely orange, that will change.
  • Do you remember the television show "The Office?" The comedy channel is running a marathon today. Watched a few episodes with husband, rather bizarre. I worked in a place much like that. Dysfunction running rampant. Flashbacks.
  • Just read a very good book, it gave me a new perspective on tea and the adoption of Chinese girls in the 1980's. Thanks again Terri!

  •  I fell asleep sitting straight up in a chair this afternoon, again. I am getting too old for this....again, the last days of age 69!
