Merry Christmas from Sewtopia Studio

As I sit here typing this at 4:41 am I am reminded of so many prior Christmas holidays. So much to do, so much fuss, gatherings of friends and families as well as observing our faith rituals that make this time of year so special.

This year we are scaled back on decor, events and celebration because of husbands recent surgery. Knee replacements have come a long way, but still difficult for the person trying to learn to walk again. As primary care giver for two people who cannot ambulate without a walker and assistance I am focusing my efforts to help them along this Christmas. That is my function, that is my gift to them. (Good thing, not a whole lot of shopping time! If I can't push a button on my computer and have it arrive by kind delivery person, things would be really lean here!!!)

Of course, I wish I had something interesting to share that emerged from Sewtopia Studio, but alas, I do not. I am hopeful that this will change in the next week or so. In my "waiting room time" I have scanned my favorite blogs and websites and have lots of ideas for the New Year.

  • May the season be a joyous one for you and yours. May Santa provide some new sewing notion to inspire and support your creative intentions.
  • I have amazing friends. Really. They are here, helping in many ways.
  • I miss my Sister. So far away. As we recall our childhood I remember Christmas to be far different than now. It was good. We were two little girls, in fine dresses from our Grandmother, smiling at the camera, anxious to return to our gifts. It was the 1950's. The world was far different.
  •  Have a wonderful Christmas, no matter what circumstance you face this season, good or not so much, there is always that intangible magic for those little ones in their Christmas finery. Merry Christmas.
