Jeepers Creepers Are All These Things Keepers?????? (pre-warned picture heavy)

I was sorting things in the studio recently and was very frustrated in my bad habit. I must confess....I keep batting scraps. Cotton, wool, poly, silk, combinations, fusible and non I have a bit, well more than a bit.
So here we are, pushed all the way to the back against the wall and there is still plenty of room.

You never know when you might need a piece for a place mat or runner or even for stuffing a pincushion or a bit for a mug rug!
In drawers, closets and even vintage picnic baskets I have batting pieces. I had an idea since the Coronet frame is large and there is lots of unused space under there we have a plan.

Ideally, I would pack up myself and head to IKEA but my builder is not available. IKEA furniture is a bit of a challenge for me. So second choice means...plastic.

So the solution worked. I picked up two, wheeled, three drawer chests that just fit under the Coronet.

After a quilting session there is even room to tuck the work cart under there and out of the way. Space is an issue. I need to be efficient with these little carts etc. I have a thing about having all my tools and supplies organized and sorted for each process and I have been tweaking the elements needed for the Coronet for a while. It is important to remember that advancing the quilt on the rails of this machine requires some fussing with the quilt sandwhich so the area around and under the machine needs to be uncomplicated. So far, this is working well.

The work cart is another plastic storage piece from Joann's. A coupon makes these carts affordable and practical. This one has a divider on top that I use for some basics, including a post-it pad to write myself notes.
Drawer one is a bit messy because...well...I was in the middle of a session when I snapped this. It has a magnetic pin cushion, oil, lip balm, a small ruler and in the back in that plastic bag is my chalk pounce marking powder. A couple screwdrivers round it out.
Drawer two is bobbins, pins, rulers.
My favorite Isacord thread.
Panto's.
more thread in the next three drawers.
My Low-tech finale....is a magnetized pail that litteraly catches safety pins as I drop them to the floor. The binder clips are also used for securing the quilt sandwich to the table when basting. I have shown this before but it just happened to be there when I was snapping away. This is one of my favorite things. I large magnet bowl from Harbor Freight sits in the bottom and it has magnetized the tin pail.
