If You Sew, You Know.....Every Day is Sewing Lovers Day

From the Ladies of the Cloth group, Rose and Linda are working on another fussy cut project from different stitching group. Linda has chosen these glorious fabrics that remind me of some I have seen in MIL's collection from the 1940's. These are much prettier in person.

Rose has chosen a different palette, they appear more jewel tone to me.

Each collection has a personality of sorts. I am anxious to see the rest of these pretty blocks.

I should add even if you have no time to sew reading about and studying sewn items enhances your own experience.  I am currently reading a novel set in post WWII France around the resurgence of the couture houses. And the birth of the House of Dior. Most of the couturiers apparently cooperated with the occupation forces to keep from starving but the post war world was a tough place. Tracing events around +Tian as the main character develops, the author uses fashion to anchor the background of the novel.

The Designer, by Marius Gabriel, has been in my Kindle line up for some time and it has been some time in the read I might say. I only read before drifting off to sleep and lately I drift less and sleep a little more!

The Collection on Masterpiece is running again on PBS. I was hoping it was a season 2 series but it is a replay of season 1. It is the same theme, same time. Coincidence? I like watching the clothes so I am viewing it again. Trust me, there are no couture garments in the works in Sewtopia, but I am always interested.
