Little Loom

A little update on the Potholder Loom. I have been churning a few out now and then. I started using large rubber bands to Hold the loops down by the pegs. It is working out pretty good I think.
You remember this blast from the past?
A little bowl of potholders.
I forgot to take a photo before I took the loops off the loom but these rubber bands from fresh broccoli actually work well in holding the loops on the pegs. I think the pegs were longer on the old fashioned looms. These are a bit stubby.  Binding off the loops is easier as well without all those little ends popping off. I'll make a few more then work on something else. I have a nice little selection of wool squares in the post, I am going to cut pennies, lots of pennies.
  • I am not sure how many of these I will make. The end cost per is sort of high so I want to use up the loops, I will have enough of these to last the rest of my life, and a few more as well!
  • I want to pop in a few annuals for color in the beds. I say that every year and end up with flower explosions all over that are a pain to maintain. Jury is still out on that one.
  • I have a thing for shoes, since childhood. Summer demands some new ones. I did good.

Cute, yes? Alegria, one of my favorite makers. Arthritis in the footsies require a molded foot bed for me, this brand has that, like a built-in orthotic that molds as you wear them.   Happy Feet.

You might like this post on Marc and Angel's site. As my days become increasingly stressful I find that I am running out of coping mechanisms and do not want to turn into THAT person. An insightful and touching story woven with practical habits for me, and maybe you too.

Thank you, thank you. Marc and Angel always have such interesting posts and their stories somehow always relate, I agree. Lots of common sense. Not much of that these days. Take care dear friend.
