This is Pear II, for February, I think I will call the little center motif a Cornflower. You could change the color to suit your taste easily. Marly readily admits that she switches colors around all the time. |
So here we are, another Monday closer to the Perfectly Precious Pear Project for 2015. I am mostly an optimistic sort. At least 10 years ago when a Needlework department of a local store closed down I was 'Johnny- on-the-spot' with my loose change and plans to buy at least one of everything so that I would be prepared when the stitch bug bit.
time to replace the gourds with greenery and berries |
I did get some nice Aida fabric, some good threads and an extra hoop. I was sure I had 28 count linen in that drawer. (I even brought home the storage units from that department to keep my goodies!) Alas dear stitchers, if I had that linen I either gave it away or tucked in a safe place that I do not remember. I riffled through all eight drawers ( I brought home 4 of the storage units for my stuff and another 4 for garage storage. Yes, I had a pick-up truck!) NO luck.
A little sun on a otherwise dreary day. |
So that leads me to preparedness. Not MRE's in case of flood or nuclear disaster, not antibiotics and vaccines in case of long-term confinement, no, linen. 28 count to be exact to coincide with the project. You just never know when you might need lots of linen. Make no mistake here, I have not abandoned quilting in any way, shape or form but I need to doodle away on some other projects, do you ever feel that way?
Br Prepared Dear Stitchers, Be Prepared!

At the moment I am, besides the Randjes ( you know? ) stitching the antique sampler from the isle of Marken in The Netherlands. A beauty, love stitching on / in it.
Keep on searching for your linen and if you can't dig it up from anywhere in your stash or stow room, buy new!
Cheers,
Jeanneke.
