Mr. Snowy Owl is almost ready to head up the beach to the Outer Banks
Community Quilt Show. This “Fun Little Quilt” is a challenge quilt
featuring Moda’s Scrumptious fabric. My entry uses a Block of the Month
bonus block designed by Mary Beth Hartnett. The owl was intended to be a
barred owl, but I changed it to a snowy owl in honor of one spotted
near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse around Thanksgiving 2013. Thus,
Scrumptious Snowy Owl. Linda Sue Sew and Sew Member.
- I termed today Magic Monday because I am still working on the Magic Blocks.
- Have you ever been almost too tired to breathe?
- These little bits of sunshine and and relatively warm breezes (45 degrees vs. -10 F!) have been so welcome. People are smiling again.
- I did a new to me provisional cast on using a crochet chain, love it.. I am challenging myself to knit something a little beyond basic.
- Looking out at my little raised beds I am considering some changes in my plantings. A work in progress.
- I chuckle at how I plan my gardening in February. Let me just say I have 500 ground cover plants on the way and another 8 plants to round everything out. Good grief, you are going to hear me groaning from across the country. I will just apologize now.
- With Lent approaching I am making my lists. This is the time of my year when I strip clean my house, prioritize projects and define my budgets. Easter is my favorite holiday, it defines what I believe.
- In the same context I am shopping the stash for some high quality white linen fabric. Not off-white, not cream white, white. I'll let you know how that works out.
- Another season of Downton done. I didn't even realize that it was over. Sometimes distractions are good, sometimes they are just distractions.
