Remember a Beautiful October, Apples, Coffee, Christmas Fabric

Turning the calendar page from October to November is a bitter sweet ritual. Yes we do still keep a calendar with appointments, events, birthdays etc, on the back of the door that leads down to the basement. Years ago I started doing this to try to not forget where I was to be when. Then with the advent of smart phones I began to let that habit go, however, Mr. Sewtopia did not. Therefore, flipping that used, scribbled on, and essentially defaced page is still like opening a new door to new days, new gatherings, and most of all new hours to enjoy the nesting season and all it brings. While likely starting the first fire of the year while making and baking many things pumpkin and cinnamon, it is now November. I like to look back on the month passed to remember all the touching moments that make up those special days. Of course family and friends are number one on the list but other thoughts come to mind. Thoughts on Quilt Care & Repair, Restore or Reuse?

This is a large quilt. It covers a queen bed and has a full row plus drape on each side and one row is tucked in at the foot. I think this is the largest quilt they made. What a glorious morning we have here. Of course, at 6 am my dogs are ready to walk and sniff our countryside. Heavy dew fall this morning required careful stepping on the hills. These walks provide time for me to think about all sorts of things, today it was my quilt collection. These reflections are partly because I am a little stalled in my quilting right now. So for inspiration (seems like I am always searching for the illusive spark lately) I brought out this vintage piece. Another quilt made by husbands Grandmother and Aunt, it was pieced and quilted sometime in the early 60's I believe. It still has all the pencil marks used to mark quilting lines. Birds and Wool, Two Favorites and a GIVEAWAY!!!!!
