OK, confession time my Pretties. This is a collection of Redwork blocks that have been hanging out in the Unfinished pile for a while. So I brought them into the light of day, well at least the artificial light of my subterranean studio, for another look-see. I have finished several Redwork pieces with a botanical theme. This is the last one without a conclusion.
This was an Alex Anderson panel that I worked on in the evenings. Each motif measures about 6 inches square. I never had a plan for them really. So I pulled all my reds out to get a sense of a setting for these.
17 different Reds here, good grief. And these babies have been hanging around for years. Now surely I can come up with a plan, right?
Well, let me tell you a secret. I had the brilliant idea to trim up those blocks. I had a fatality, chopped one way off the mark! I can just say that some unhappy words were used on that stupid rotary cutter, can you imagine the nerve of the shiny blade just going off like that? Adjustments will be required. I may be able to fudge some of the background fabric back on from scraps in the bin. No wonder I am such a ratty sleeper, now I have to lament the damage and come up with a fix!
My plan is to border each block with a 1 inch, a 1 1/2 inch and a 2 inch 'frame' then figure out some cornerstones and sashing. I think.
That's all for these for now. Watch out for the slip of the blade!
