creativity motto

Pass It On
Creativity is one of those words that means so many things to different people. When I see the emails coming out of Quilt Market Fall 2013 and the great UTube videos I am in awe of those persons who design the fabric lines and the projects. While the phrase "everything old is new again" can apply to garment design as well as fabric design in general, quilt design is evolving again.

Just study the 'modern' style of fabrics, the  increasing use of solid fabrics and the clever abstract trend to large negative spaces. If I recall correctly I have seen 5 rather distinct changes in quilting direction since  I began in the late 1970's. The relatively recent infusion of young quilters with a  different design esthetic provides an exciting alternative for today's quilter. There is so much at Market for the Quilt Shop owner to choose from and I am always amazed at how each one develops the personality for his/her shop from all these offerings.

Here is a link for today. A photo collection of many talented designers showcased with their fabric lines and projects for Moda. Today's view of Quilt Market Fall 2013.

More market, check out the Michael Miller booth. Dots, dots and more dots. A generous contributor to my "Dream Baskets" for the TRQ quilt show, I have a special thank you to them.
