Cowl #1 Don't you just get a little 'tickle' when you think you may have just had a clever moment? It happens so rarely in Sewtopia, I just had to run with it and use it as a title! :)))))
Thinking about the chilling breezes to come I am thinking neck coverings. I swear, not bad words swear, but swear in the sense that I strongly believe that keeping my neck covered and warm and cozy during cold weather protects me from illness. Sounds like an old wives tale, doesn't it. That leads me to the
Fabulous Purl Bee site. Beautiful examples of fine knit/crochet/sewing crafts are showcased regularly and the talented and kind designers share their patterns, free. There is even an online store to source what you need for each project, if that is your choice. (*no compensation received or implied, BTW) The common thread in these examples is the neutral shades of whites, grays, blue/grays. This reduces what I refer to as the
clash factor. A non-competition clause for your face and your clothing. More versatile as well, not a whole lot of thought is required to put yourself together heading out the door. While I don't fuss about fashion looks and style, per se, I don't want to look like I just
threw on what ever was clean either! Of all these examples, I think the Shawl is my favorite, what do you think? What would work well for you, your lifestyle, your closet?

The Shawl Collar Cowl is another beauty. Made from extra fine baby mohair and silk, it is a classic, great with sweaters, vests, jackets and coats. | | |
