I am quilting, yes I am. During a break I like to walk about, outside, stretch and clear my thread-addled mind. I take snaps of this and that. The table garden is doing well, flowers a little stunted from less than sunny days.
The Handiquilter is performing well, thankfully. A review of that to come because I finally overcame my reluctance to use the Stitch Regulator, the "True Stitch." I am learning. I have a little surprise with this quilt to share on Friday.
The Finishing Friday (or should I label it Finished by Friday!) concept is working well for me. Finding time to work has been complicated for many reasons but I find that giving myself a deadline of sorts has given some structure to my week. I have lived my life by schedule and routine and this retirement thing sort of threw that off....like a child just out of school for the summer, I have been all willy-nilly about my creative time.
In a conversation with a non-sewing friend yesterday after church, standing in the parking lot, Husbands off to the side, restless to leave, she queried how I can go from one project the next, day after day, year after year. I explained that I also feed my soul with thread. And I do believe that is true.
So off to do the essential home maintenance so I can get back to the fun stuff!!! Have a sunny and creative week.
