In my
Finished by Friday process I also decided to reconsider some
in progress projects. For example, the wave afghan, my crochet project. Started in April, I wanted to stretch my color boundaries.. Expand my horizons. At this stage of life I mostly know what I like and what does not work. Recently we took MIL on a little car ride and stopped at an ice cream shop. They boasted so many types of ice cream my mind boggled. While the other members of the group pondered Rum Raisen or Marshmallow something I ordered good and familiar chocolate. I was happy, in my comfort zone. Others, not so much.
Well, now, there are some things that work and some do not. This was too much color...screaming color, seasick inducing emotions. I added a few more rows and considered and reconsidered, Then determined this just was not my style. The yarn is nice. Good color, nice quality, the project just did not work.

the "before" and now back to the books, the planning stages, and what can I do with that yarn??? One of my new favorite books by Donna Kooler may have an answer.
