I am not sure where I read or saw the title
Granny Chic recently, but it rather struck a funny cord with me. It might have been in a magazine or online. No matter, because now that I am aware of the resurgence of the popularity of the Granny Square I am appreciating its versatility. Two of my favorite blogs that feature crochet have illustrated some fresh new ideas with the Granny.

I have been playing around with the crochet hook and made my white background pillow. Not completed yet, here is a photo of the in-progress piece.Two panels, not yet blocked, joined, stuffed or ruffled. I used a white background after seeing a few on pinterest that were so cute. All of the pastel yarns are left-overs from other projects. Finished photo's will follow. Actually, even the white was liberated from the stash. I cannot remember now why I bought so much white yarn. I try to label the purchases and put the pattern with the yarn. However now that two skeins of yarn from this lot is used up, I will probably find the proposed pattern!
While in the crochet spirit I started another square. I wanted to make a new throw. It was going to be multiple squares in a bright new Red Heart color patterning yarn but it ended up as one giant square.

| May I just say, I love, love, love this new hook!!! Picked it up at Joann's. A lady shopping beside me had read multiple positives about the grip being much friendlier to hand and wrist. She was absolutely right. I will be replacing all of my hooks with this handle. |

FYI, are you a knitter? Do you subscribe to Purl Bee? A new pattern for the bobble-covered sheep above has just come up that is so cute. Now, I would not make this, way too much work for my meager knitting skills, but it is adorable. Copy right restrictions are clear there. All of the beautiful patterns there are for home use, not to be sold. So here it is IF you are interested. Bobble Sheep Pillow
