A Quilters Good Fortune

I was a lucky girl. At the Guild show we host great flea market that we call Granny's Attic. We collect everything quilt related from members and other donors and sell them at the show. Look what I found! This lovely scrap top was pieced by one member's Mother who didn't care for the finished product. She donated it to the Attic and it came home with me. I love scrap quilts, I love stars, I  am very happy. I met the
lovely maker during the show. Up in years, the thought of hand quilting this large quilt was too much for her. I will gladly take care of that!

This quilt feels very summery to me. I need to choose a batting, I am thinking a light-weight cotton or silk blend and a backing. I want that to be a white on white. The Dogwood quilt is still on the design wall, that one is next in the queue, then  this one. Yes, I am a happy girl.

Good for you! I like quilts with white backgrounds. Mostly, I like old-fashioned looking quilts, white backgrounds with faded patchwork.

We had about 20 finished quilt tops this year. Many people cleaning and purging, moving South! Actually I claimed this one before it even hit the rack! Rather shameless I suppose but there you have it.
