Happy Thanksgiving from The Sew and Sew Weekly

the truck from my childhood was much newer than this so don't gasp! this would make me 101 years old!!!!

I hope everyone has had a nice week with family and friends. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The time of year, the colors, the food all bring together people we haven't seen for a while and an opportunity to see how quickly the little ones grow up. Wow.

Thanksgiving week for me is one of relative ease. My Dear Son and DIL do the cooking and hosting at their home. Since it is about an hour or so away, I must make sure my pies and bake goods travel well. I used to have an old-fashioned handled bakers tray, like the ones the man who did the deliveries when I was a child. Yes, there was a milk truck who delivered milk products and a bakery truck for bread, cakes and cookies. I think Husband gave it a toss some time ago, the bottom was falling out. Not so good for the pies I think!

This post was not intended to veer off into pies and milk, but that is what is on my mind right now.

Anyway, one of the reasons that I post the group activity and progress is so that members who are away or traveling can always catch up and stay current.
Karen has been busy making baby quilts, this one for a family member. A fan of the dots, she sprinkles some on this one here and there, too cute!

Karen has dressed this one with a sweet little dinosaur, and of course, some dots!

This long weekend will hopefully give me a little more studio time. I want to finish the flimsy. (love that term, a favorite of Kaaren from The Painted Quilt) I need to practice a lot more with the Handiquilter 16 but this will like be the first one quilted on that machine. Of course, why do I plan all these projects right before Christmas? Why not? (((smile)))

now that is one HUGE ball of yarn. the standard size is to the left, in blue. reminds me of a giant alien Easter Egg, however, Linda insists it is just yarn......???remember Cocoon? the movie? think about it!!!!!

Of course, our little looms were busy cranking out little tossel caps for babies not even born yet. Such fun.
Mary Jane brought some Santa paper crafts made for their Sunday School Class

so simple but so well drafted

and this little guy is front and center, he stands.

Jenny has been busy dying silk again, this one looks like flower clusters.

this burn-out piece is absolutely gorgeous, there was some wrangling for possession on this one. In front is a scarf holder covered with the same dyed silk.

the colors are stunning.
