Week-End Wrap and Miscelaneous Information

Is it a new type of golf ball? No. Is it one of those little things you throw in your dryer so that the wet clothes don't clump? Orrrrr, could it be a random photo of a nasty little virus that attacks the stomach, making the host absolutely miserable???? Yes! You win the prize! Late Friday night, as I was mapping out my plan to get so much sewing done this week-end, I became an unwilling victim of something like this. Needless to say, an unpleasant experience was had by all.
Can you guess what this is?
So Saturday was pretty much a disaster. I forgot how chills and fever can make you question your reason for living. And the other components, well, you can just imagine. By Sunday I felt much better, but had a serious case of Noodle Knees. I was dehydrated and cranky. As the day progressed I managed to do at least a little of what I had originally planned.

I keep projects in baskets and bags. These are random totes, some I have made, some are gift with purchase things. They are great for traveling projects. I grab and go. Usually I only keep one project per bag. This bag was a Lancome gift a year or so ago. I use the baskets for projects that are not really suitable for travel.
This is the current Garter Stitch Blanket. The yarn is a silk combo of some sort, I forget actually. (If you really want to know e-mail me and I will look it up in my project book....in my studio....two floors away....I still have Noodle Knees.  That clear plastic tube in the back is a canister that  holds your yarn, it has a hole in the top to feed the yarn through. No knots, no linting and no pet hair on the yarn. Yippee. This was purchased at Joann's fabric a while ago but I think they still carry it. Wait for a sale or use a coupon. Of course, I am using a circular needle. I LOVE circular needles. For blankets they are amazing because of the volume of fabric that is produced and held on the needle without loosing the stitches.
I really like the spongy soft garter stitch for a baby blanket.

The circle, the mindless stitch, over and over. You would think I would be further ahead wouldn't you!
Thermal Pewter carafe.
I don't remember if I showed you this before, but as I passed it with camera in hand I took a quick snap. It is a thermal pitcher, probably used for coffee or hot water for tea.
The imprints says "Property of the Cleveland Hotel"
Anyway, after doing a quick clean up in the studio I lumbered my way to my sewing machine to stitch up the backing for the The Wonk. (I can't wait to finish this thing!) So now the backing is pieced, it is layered with 100%  cotton batting, pinned and ready for quilting. Please chant along....may your quilting be quick with no tangles or nests on the back of the work. May your bobbins seem to be exceptionally full and for heaven sake, may all the wonky pieces not pucker! Repeat as needed!

This is my calendar page for September, the one I keep in my Studio to record projects and progress. I measure time and production for my own information. (once keeping statistics gets in your blood, it's hard to shake!)  The right hand column has lists of what is in progress or what is in the proverbial pipeline. Now, Please note that is essentially blank! My Mojo (I need to find a better, more descriptive term for this, Julie, any ideas?)  is underwater. I admit that I am having a really difficult time getting it back. I am starting to worry that it may not come back. I have planned and scheduled, I have read till I am blue in the face. All of these exercises used to help, but this year is different. I just realized that I have not finished one quilt since last November. It is rather like sleep-walking.  While that may be no surprise, I really thought that I could get there by now. This is an uphill struggle that has almost consumed me.
I am hoping that when I finish this Wonk and pass it on the fog will lift. Here's to trying to maintain that hope. I think I sort of freaked out a friend the other day with some weird statements, I am sorry. I am hanging in and we will be knitting together before you know it!   Ok, that's enough of the self pity. Tomorrow, onto the machine to do an easy meandering wavy line quilting to get this baby done. Like this one, squiggly type lines, top to bottom. Bind, done! Blogger formatting is fighting me tonight. Gratuity Moment: it was a 24 hour bug, not 48 hours or more. Thank You. Yeah, Thank You.
