I love to collect old table cloths. Some in my collection are in very good condition, others have signs of wear or stains. One of my favorite Spring habits is to take them from their storage, place them on the table for a few days or a week, then rewash, starch, iron and return them to their safe place. But I really like the look of them. So I found a little compromise.
While on a field trip to a quilt shop I found the Elanor Burns "Victory" printed panels. So cute. I chose one that spoke to me and now I wish I had picked up a couple more. They are 100 % cotton, a little lighter in weight than most quilting cottons in my opinion.
Cute, yes? Floral, swags and stars on a crisp white background. It is about 40 x 44 inches.
These little red, blue and yellow stars border the panel. I merely used a three-thread serged stitch around the raw edges then turned the fabric, pressed and hemmed with a straight stitch. A quick and easy project. Sort of what I am into right now.
Gratuity Moment: Spring day, windows open, curtains swaying in the breeze and a crisp tablecloth!
