If you are a blog reader who sews, you may have enjoyed all the activity over at Leah's Sew Spoiled. I discovered her blog over a year ago and admired her style and her sense of color in her projects. (We all know that I am a wee bit color challenged.) She had a super give-away on New Years day, guess what, I won! I have won some great things in the past, like a great Schwinn Bicycle when I was 8 years old, and a Caribbean Cruise in the early 90's. (lots of that I do not remember, I slept because I had to take loads of Dramamine to keep my stomach in its correct anatomical position.) But that's about it. Now you may say, sounds good to me, but I gave up on the Publishers Clearinghouse and HGTV give away houses long ago.
I am in the process of setting up a new studio space and I have little stations here and there to accommodate specific tasks. I need lots of pincushions. Enter this little beauty........
This is a large pincushion. It measures about 6 inches square. Notice that I have started putting my quilt layering pins in there. I like to keep the pins open so that I don't have to fiddle around while securing the layers. Right now I have them in the little tin they came in. This will be perfect. I will make another one, like it, because i use a lot of pins. Usually about 1200 for a full size quilt. Great idea! Here is the link to Leah's site and her shop. Her patterns are original and fun. I choose the Ladybug apron and the Cabrio Tote pattern also as part of the gift.

Or look at my blog for my design pincushion; I must say that's smaller than Penny's.
