The Free-Motion Stitch Library-Happy Thanksgiving

When the holidays start to approach and the projects pile up like cord wood, those deadlines are looming large. Great plans, unfinished projects, multiple demands and lots of cooking, friends and family.  That said,  I have a couple big  projects that I am going to try to complete this week. First, I had a computer problem where I lost two completed posts on hemming trousers and hemming jeans. gone, kaput. rats!! I had started re-writing them then, wack, it happened again. I am disillusioned, to say the least. I need to get Bertie stuffed before I stuff the turkey, the Christmas gifts are way behind. Yikes. However, I did manage to photograph most of the free-motion patterns on the turning twenty quilt before it was gifted to its beloved owner. So this is just a compilation.   I realize that there are a few I missed, I'll have to work on that. I will keep a file on these for reference on a separate page and add as more techniques are developed. I also think I will return to my original plan of doing samples of each process in a notebook for easy reference. There is something about the tactile and visual experience to stimulate the process. So here they are, I know there is some repetition, I apologize.
the Buckeye, my design

the stipple, a we bit wormy looking I think...
I started this one with one little circle in the corner of the block, counter-clockwise. Then from the 12 o'clock point I made a second circle, larger, clockwise. Finally, I made a large circle, counterclockwise again. and then jumped to the next small circle right up against the outline of the first. I know, clear as mud. If I can figure out how to do the video thing, I will pass it on. In the meantime, speak among yourselves.

pebbles, a nice filler stitchIt is so hard to believe that this is Thanksgiving week in the US. My holiday clock is ready to fire up the BBQ for 4th of July festivities, I'm a little behind I hear. So on that note I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I will probably not have time this week for much posting.  I have plans to see family and friends who live far away and the only time we connect is this week. So please forgive my lack of blogging, I will be back next week and hopefully have something done!!!
