Just a quick little post to tell you about something I just saw in the "American Patchwork and Quilting" magazine, October 2011, issue #112. Have you ever considered decoupaged floor cloths? A long-arm quilter, named Maxine Jacobs, has a new studio. The name of her business is Three Sister Quilting in Coon Valley, Wisconsin. Maxine designed the 8 foot square Mariner's Compass block in the center while friends and customers donated the 2 foot square surrounding blocks. She got the idea from a book by Ellen Highsmith Silver called Floorquilts! Fabric Decoupaged Floorcloths-No Sew Fun, 2007. The process involves primed and painted plywood to cover the subfloor, sketching out the blocks, cut fabric without seam allowances and adhere them to the floor with a decoupage medium such as Mod Podge Satin. Several coats later, let it dry then seal with several coats of polyurethane. Fantastic!
What a beautiful workspace! And this is the floor!!!

Gratuity Moment: I have a nice new quilting magazine to take with me this morning to the dentist's office for the last stage of a tedious root canal.
