The expression "...too many irons in the fire" was always a favorite among the women in our family. This iron is old, now just decorative and quite frankly I am so glad that I don't have to use it. But it certainly does symbolize our lifestyles. When we sew, quilt, knit etc, there is never enough time to do those creative past-times that we really would like to do. That said, I have added another project to my To-Do list. While home dec is not my favorite type of sewing, it does provide more flexibility in design and certainly is less expensive.

Yesterday I found this fabric. Love it. Just what I was looking for. The design has a mid-century modern feel and I think it will work nicely with the design of the room. The walls are painted a light gray that seems to have a slight blueish cast. There are two small windows in this bathroom that need to be dressed. Because this print is so graphic, I will likely make very simple panels.
There is also an antique vanity bench that will need to be reupholstered. Enter this blue chenille. I have been looking for upholstery weight pale blue velveteen....good luck with that! This will substitute nicely. The bench is probably 1920's with heavy bronze legs. This will be a simple cover even though I had grand plans for this bench. I need to get this room done, really I do.
Why do I do this? Who knows, I enjoy these projects, but I probably should not have planned all this during the holiday run up. That's all for now, I need to get to work.
Gratuity Moment: I found the right fabric, yeah!
