Sunday Summary

What a week, I feel like I have been sleeping on the job! Like this guy. (full story about him and his friends is on Kitchen Chronicles.)  I did manage to do some housekeeping chores that seem to always be in my way. While trying to decide which collection to showcase on Elegant Musings for our blog tour, a closet clean out was required, a linen closet. Here I had stored collections of hand crocheted doilies, embroidered linens, quilts, antique linen napkins,  Vintage aprons, Vintage tablecloths, etc.

Lucy was as distressed as I was when we had to face this offender, it smelled awful as I was pulling it out.

the strangler, the invader, the intruder
I needed to examine and refold...everything. Long story short, an entire afternoon evaporated. The garden is growing by leaps and bounds, lots of baby vegeie's,  a cucumber harvest as well. I discovered that the pink and green variegated ivy growing in my perennial bed was an invasive marauder and needed to be removed, thereby creating blank spots that needed to be replanted.  On and on the delays and distractions. I didn't sew one thing this week. Distressing, but I will try again this week. I have a couple things that need to be worked on this week. The rose red linen dress is still circling the airfield, the redwork penny squares are in limbo as well, but not forgotten.

I think the documentation process that this blog provides,  gives me permission to start, stop and stall as required by life, circumstance and event. That's sort of an excuse I think, but no one will suffer if I never cut out the dress, sash the quilt, or knit the sweater. So, then, that's OK.
