July is coming fast, and for Raggedy Ann, July is Recognition Month, part #1

Headliner for July, Raggedy Ann.

Somewhere I heard that July was National Raggedy Ann Recognition Month. I don't remember where but a little history per Wikipedia:

Over the years I have amassed a small collection of these little dolls, mostly at artists fairs. So to give them a little "out of the box time" they posed for this photo.
*they are normally in storage now, but I cannot part with them. Look at those faces!

sorry about the blurred photo, her necklace is a little bird too

I call these two sisters because they are essentially the same, with different clothes. These were acquired at the Shaker Woods Festival in Columbiana, Ohio. The artist has a large booth, full of dolls, many kinds.

The best part of this little walk down memory lane is not just the charm Raggedy Ann has always evoked for me, but the great memories of time. Memories of the event. Sweltering heat, huge crowds, so much to see, amazing artists, and dear friends to share it all. Good times.

This year is the 29th Festival in the Woods. Held for 3 consecutive week-ends starting August 13th in Columbiana, Ohio. If you are interested, here is the link. (I receive no compensation for endorsement or mention in this blog)

**please forgive blurry photo's, I am a little off due to a horrible allergy attack and the hands will not hold steady....

Gratuity Moment: The great memories of dear friends.
