handmade button from LOOM in Pittsburgh |
shawl wrapped and secured |
- I posted about this wrap before because it just didn't seem done. The pattern used a long fringe on the short ends for finishing. I passed on this for a couple reasons.
- This yarn (acrylic blend) untwists and looks like matted dog hair with little agitation.
- This is a porch shawl, a wrap for chilly evenings when I park in a comfy chair or rocking chair and read, stitch or bird-watch. It will be outside and need frequent washing. Picture all that fringe looking like unkempt dreadlocks after one or two washings!
- The crocheted edges seemed more practical and finished. A little bit of a ruffle too. Like a period at the end of a sentence. So an item to add to the accomplishment project.
- purely by accident, I think it will coordinate with some new wicker chairs on the back porch. smile
