On the left, a few up-close photo's of the felting process. Here I am laying down fine layers of wool roving onto a piece of upholstery fabric. Joann's had a sale last week, discontinued samples, $2.00. I saw work like this in a book of felting projects for the hand felter and adapted it to the machine. Here is the finished project, a pillow made with the felted piece on the front and a coordinating upholstery piece on the back, stuffed with fiberfill. Couldn't be easier, but I still need lots of work on the process and some skills to enhance the fabric more.
