1954 How To-The Workbasket

While sorting through some older books in my collection, I found this little gem tucked into one on Knitting and Crochet. The Workbasket was a little subscription periodical that came via USPS to ladies all over the country. This one is dated 1954 but I received these into the 1980's.
Brief History of the WORKBASKET
<< The Workbasket was published monthly by Modern Handcraft, Inc, Kansas City, Missouri. The 1st issue was published in October 1935 and the last issue May or July 1996. The magazine spanned 61 years! A quick Google search turned up several sites that have copies for sale.

This copy was a supplement "How To" for subscribers to teach and to reinforce proper knitting and crochet. Written in a very easy to understand text, it was a great reference guide. This  one also includes brief instructions in other needle crafts such as tatting, rug hooking, hairpin lace, netting, smocking, huck weaving, needlepoint, hemstitching and more. The paper is quite fragile now so it will go into safekeeping.
