Fourth Annual Quilters Weekend
Saturday, Jan. 22, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, Jan. 23, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The Senator John Heinz History Center presents the fourth annual Quilters Weekend, showcasing the unique history of quilting in Western Pennsylvania and encouraging families to share the tradition together.
More than 2,000 visitors will experience a weekend full of hands-on activities, enjoy antique and more than 30 present-day quilt displays, quilting demonstrations, and a quilt book exchange, and visit with nearly 20 quilting vendors and guilds from throughout the region, emphasizing this year's theme - "Old & New."
Featured speakers Marty Ressler (Sat., 1 p.m. only) and Jan Myers Newbury (Sat. and Sun., 2 p.m.) will share their quilting knowledge of past techniques and modern additions to the quilting world.
The Western Pennsylvania Quilt Documentation Project will also be at the History Center throughout the weekend to catalog the history of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s quilts. To make an appointment to have your quilt documented, please contact Brenda at bchrlf@bchrlf.org or 724-775-1848.
